I am an award-winning journalist, author, historian and activist based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've worked at those endeavors and in non-profit management and development for almost 30 years. I am a dynamite grant proposal writer with a successful track record of raising substantial sums for my clients, and I have researched and written the histories of several organizations, including Ironworkers Local 8 and the Women's Coalition of Milwaukee.

Recently, I served as editor on an inspiring collection called A Celebration of Caregiving: Portraits & Stories, published by IndependenceFirst. In 1998, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Labor History Society, I authored a book about women labor union pioneers in Wisconsin titled Like Our Sisters Before Us: Women of Wisconsin Labor.

I have won many awards for my writing, editorial work and research. At left you can find links to writing samples and my full biography. And I wouldn't be a writer without a blog! Be sure to check out my very own BlogJAM, for irreverent reveries on an array of current events and controversies.
